Ms. Jane Lane

Arguably my favorite teacher is my second-grade teacher. Ms. Lane as I called her in second grade was a teacher who understood each student’s needs are different. She celebrated each student by providing the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of assignments that advocated for individual learning styles and personal gifts. She was amazing.

Sometimes you have the privilege of becoming friends with your teachers as you transition to adulthood. I ran into Jane a couple of years ago as an adult in a brewery in Longview, Tx. We spent a minimum of 2 hours catching up on life. She is one of my biggest fans and I am one of hers.
