I have always believed in the importance of supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, and I have created programs like TRAP Learning to do just that. This recognition was a milestone for me, as I never expected to receive such acknowledgment for my work. Being able to use my voice, hands, and skills to serve those with developmental disabilities is truly humbling and fulfilling.

Drumming used as a Fine Motor Skills Booster for Different Age Groups 0-72 months

Drumming also aids in the development of their fine motor skills. The intricate movements involved in drumming, such as gripping the drumsticks and striking the drumhead, require a high level of finger dexterity. Through consistent practice, preschoolers gradually strengthen their hand muscles and improve their ability to perform delicate tasks that require precise finger movements, such as writing or drawing.

A recent presentation at Legacy Academy focused on empowering youth, improving mental health, and celebrating individuality through improved communication. Building dialogue with oneself, trusted support systems, and within social dynamics where peer pressure exists was highlighted. Teachers’ inclusion in the conversation was emphasized for collaborative growth. The presenter advocates for continuing these conversations, addressing mental health, encouraging self-confidence, and fostering autonomy to positively impact youth development.
