But regardless of my personal connection, the Tyler Loop stands out among the various forms of journalism in Tyler, Texas. Their dedication to providing factual information and entertainment about local events is commendable. They go above and beyond to understand the creative mind and soul, and their impact on Smith County is undeniable.
The Tyler Loop holds a special place in my heart because they featured me on their “Out of the Loop” season five before I even moved to Tyler. This platform hand-picked local individuals like myself to share our stories of trials, tribulations, and inspiration. It was an incredible opportunity to be a part of, and it showcased the Tyler Loop’s commitment to highlighting the diverse voices and experiences within the community.
What sets the Tyler Loop apart is their ability to create a space for Tyler and its residents to tell their stories and build unity through understanding. They provide a platform for individuals to express themselves, fostering a sense of connection and empathy among the community. This is no easy feat, but the Tyler Loop accomplishes it with grace and authenticity.
I am grateful for the Tyler Loop’s contribution to Smith County. They not only inform and entertain, but they also inspire and uplift. Their dedication to journalism that goes beyond the surface level is evident in every piece they publish. They dig deep, uncovering the heart and soul of Tyler, Texas, and sharing it with the world.
In conclusion, my respect for the Tyler Loop and their impact on Tyler and its residents is unwavering. During the vigil, esteemed speakers shed light on the profound impact of colonialism and white supremacy in shaping the United States, as well as the ongoing struggle for Black liberation. It served as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for a lynching memorial monument in Smith County, which would serve as a symbol of recognition for the racial terror lynchings that occurred and initiate the crucial process of racial reconciliation.
Moreover, the event underscored the vital role of education, communication, and restorative justice in the pursuit of Black liberation. Participants in the parade and attendees of the vigil shared their personal perspectives on what Black liberation truly means to them. Their voices echoed the importance of freedom, self-expression, cultural preservation, and societal progress in the ongoing fight for equality and justice.
Out of the Loop Season 5 brings together a new group of storytellers, musicians, and organizers who are ready to share their inspiring and relatable stories about life in Tyler and East Texas. This diverse and talented cast includes A’Niyah Buchanan, a vocalist with a captivating voice that will leave you mesmerized. LaDarius Daniels, a skilled saxophonist who can transport you with his soulful melodies. Callynth Finney, a talented photographer and leader of a nonprofit organization, who uses her art to make a positive impact in the community.
Joining them is Celia Flores, a lifelong resident of Tyler, who brings a unique perspective and deep connection to the city. Serenity Johnson, a remarkable 10-year-old poet, whose words will touch your heart and leave you in awe of her talent. Feng Li, a dedicated gastroenterologist, who not only heals bodies but also has a passion for storytelling.
Casey “Muze” Williams, a dynamic performance percussionist and founder of a nonprofit, who uses his music to uplift and inspire others. Chauncy B. Williams Sr., an accomplished artist and art educator, who brings his creativity and knowledge to the show. Chris French, a multi-talented photographer and musician, who captures the essence of Tyler through his lens.
Kiara Hawkins, an inspiring performance coach, who helps others unlock their full potential. Neal Katz, a rabbi and music producer, who combines his love for music and spirituality to create meaningful experiences. Grayson Lackey, a talented videographer and photographer, who brings the stories to life through his visual storytelling.
Jane Neal, the storytelling director, who guides the cast in sharing their stories in the most impactful way.
