The importance of self-care

Creating moments in music in the city that I love with people I respect in music is what carries me in joy

Casey Muze shares his testimony and insights on AvenueSpeak, where drumming and writing are key elements of the therapeutic process. It offers a glimpse into celebrated partnerships and different perspectives on experiences.

In today’s fast-paced and demanding world, it is crucial to find time for ourselves and engage in activities that bring us joy and fulfillment. Taking care of our mental well-being is essential, but it doesn’t mean isolating ourselves and drowning in negative thoughts. Instead, we should focus on finding activities that allow us to escape, release, and create.

Engaging in activities like drawing, painting, writing, biking, or even making tea and baking can be incredibly therapeutic. These activities not only provide an outlet for our emotions but also allow us to tap into our creativity and express ourselves. The key is to be consistent in our practice, as it is through this consistency that we gain wisdom and grow in our process.

However, it is important to remember that this journey of self-discovery and creativity is separate from the journey of turning our creations into marketable products. While it is tempting to get caught up in the idea of monetizing our passions, we must not forget the initial joy and liberation that comes from simply creating for ourselves. This process releases dopamine and serotonin, chemicals that bring us happiness and satisfaction.

It is crucial not to lose ourselves in the pursuit of commercial success. While it is admirable to want to turn our passions into a source of income, we must not let it overshadow the pure joy and freedom that comes from creating for ourselves. We must guard our minds and ensure that we don’t lose sight of the true essence of our creative journey.

So, let us prioritize finding activities that bring us joy and allow us to express ourselves. Let us not be afraid to escape, release, and create. Embrace the process, gain wisdom, and most importantly, don’t lose yourself in the pursuit of external validation.Title: “The Importance of Self-Care and Creative Expression:

So what does this look like for me

The “ENJOI”

In terms of rest or downtime or rejuvenating time, or whatever synonym you choose to use? There are several things that I love and enjoy. When I discuss the word “enjoy,” I’m literally talking about a point of reference. Sometimes I’ll change the spelling of words to make them more appropriate or specific to my testimony. It simply means that they mean more to me if they are spelled in an alternative way. So, “enjoy” is spelled as “ENJOI.”

Let’s get back to my list of things that I enjoy. One of the things that I truly enjoy is watches and clocks. I have a long list of YouTube subscription channels that provide informative content about watches. It allows me to nerd out and transition from one task to the next or just relax when I’m not doing anything for the day. Sometimes, on a day of rest, I’ll have a set list of YouTube videos to watch, and I enjoy going through that list.

Another thing I enjoy is randomly taking my dog, Honey, and allowing her to get in the car with me for short drives. She loves it, and it’s a great way for us to spend time together. I also love spending time with my friends, especially if we can enjoy really amazing food. I enjoy taking pictures of the food and possibly blogging about it. I wish I would remember to do that more often.

I also love to write, and I enjoy creating these blogs and making them visually appealing. It satisfies my creative self that likes patterns and organization. It’s the closest thing I get to artistry in any space, and it’s fun. I also enjoy good coffee or espresso, but if it’s too late in the day, I opt for non-caffeinated tea. I also used to enjoy long bike rides, but my bike is currently out of commission, so I haven’t been able to do that. Hopefully, that gets resolved soon.

Lastly, I enjoy scrolling on Instagram and looking at art. It feeds my soul, even if I can’t physically be in the space where the art exists. These things are concepts that bring me joy and rejuvenate me.
