Drinks well with others Podcast

As I sat down with Loren at The Foundry Coffee Shop, I couldn’t help but feel excited about the journey we were about to embark on. We were there to discuss the transformative power of mentorship, drumming, and writing, and how these tools could be used to serve individuals, families, and communities.

Our conversation was nothing short of inspiring. Loren shared with me how drumming and writing had helped her overcome personal struggles and how she had used these tools to help others do the same. We talked about the connections between mental health, physical healing, and the art of drumming and writing, and how these practices could be used to create positive change in the world.

As we sipped on our delicious coffee, we talked about the importance of building meaningful relationships and how mentorship could be used to support individuals on their journey towards healing and growth. We discussed the power of community and how coming together to share our stories and experiences could help us feel less alone and more connected.

Our conversation left me feeling inspired and hopeful. It was clear that Loren was passionate about her work and that she truly believed in the power of drumming and writing to create positive change in the world. As we parted ways, I couldn’t help but feel excited about the journey ahead and the impact we could make together through AvenueSpeak.our conversation at The Foundry Coffee Shop was a reminder of the power of human connection and the importance of building meaningful relationships. It was a reminder that we are all on a journey towards healing and growth, and that we can support each other along the way through mentorship, community, and the transformative power of drumming and writing.

Loren is joined by the founder of Avenue Speak, Casey Williams. They discuss how Casey got into music (specifically drumming) and how that molded his mission to mentor the youth, those who struggle with substance abuse, and anyone who needs someone to rely on. He discusses what brought him to Tyler, and East Texas in general. For more information on Casey’s mission: avenuespeak.com

Enjoying the work I do from a place of passion. It is an honor to connect my foundational coping skills with service work that allows healing. Both mental health and physical barriers. Drumming is the ultimate medicine. Oh, and writing. These two modalities are a gift of holistic movement.

As a provider of T.R.A.P. learning, I have seen these modalities of combining sensory techniques with call and response practices. The individuals that this program serves have a range of barriers from physical mobility barriers to cognitive distortion.
